If you are dealing with an IT recruitment agency it is important to remember that they really work for the company that will be hiring you, and not for the people that they are trying to replace. This does not mean that they should not treat you decently or that they aren’t genuinely trying to find a fit for you. It should just temper your expectations about how much effort they put into keeping you informed at all times in the process.
