Fall Nail Color Trends for 2011
It’s crazy to think that it’s already time to prepare for fall. Fortunately, the hot nail colors for this season are exciting. Here’s a look at some of the nail polish shades that will keep you on trend this fall:
Metallics
Dark, non-traditional metallics have been on trend for a while, but expect this year’s metallics to really impress. Gold, silver, copper, and gun metal grays are going to be big.
A great on-trend color this fall is a butter LONDON nail polish shade called “Chimney Sweep.” It’s what you might call black steel: dark charcoal grey with a metallic shimmer. Another good option is “The Old Bill” from butter LONDON – a darker copper color with just a hint of patina. There’s no glitter in this shade, but just enough glimmer to give it a metallic shine.
Greige
Greige is a hybrid gray, brown and beige color for the more daring neutral lover. A good example is “No More Waity, Katie” from butter LONDON, which was created to commemorate the engagement of Kate Middleton to Prince William. Though couple is married now, this gorgeous butter LONDON nail polish isn’t going anywhere. The elegant greige shade, with a touch of lilac glitter, is right on trend for fall.
Another option is butter LONDON’s “Fash Pack,” which is described as “putty meets mushroom.” It looks a little dirty, yet still elegant and fashionable.
Icy Blues
It might be unusual to think that an icy blue shade can both brighten a cold day and be extremely sexy at the same time, but with some of the fall shades, that’s exactly what you’re going to get. Look for soft blues with just a hint of shimmer.
A great choice is butter LONDON polish in “Lady Muck” because it’s a subtle, powdery blue with a hint of grey to add intrigue. For something a little sassier, try “Glitter in the Air” from Deborah Lippman. It’s a sky blue confetti color sure to perk up cooler nights.
Lilacs
A perennially popular fall color, lilac is again on trend. Both light, girly lilacs and lavenders are popular – but also darker shimmery shades too.
So far, one of the best lighter lilacs is butter LONDON’s “Muggins,” a delicate yet powerful shade. For a deeper purple, go for Deborah Lippman’s “Purple Rain,” a twinkling lilac that is guaranteed to perk up your nails.
